Worship/Discipleship Groups

Chapel: In the South Campus, every Friday morning, students and staff come together as a community of believers for a time of worship.  The Holy Spirit speaks to us through this time together. It is such a powerful experience hearing God’s children worship with all of their hearts, share stories of God’s love and faithfulness, and be challenged to live a life of discipleship as Christ lived his!

Middle School chapel is every other Friday morning. Students are challenged by various speakers on a variety of topics. On the alternating Fridays, they each belong to an Accountability Group (see below).

Upper Elementary chapel is every Friday afternoon before students go home for the weekend.

FM (Friday Mornings): Many middle school students choose to attend the Friday Morning prayer group that meets before school at 7:15-7:30am. This unique time provides a chance for students to pray for different needs and praises that have been shared. It is also a time of refreshments including donuts and juice provided by our School Circle.

Accountability Groups: These groups consists of four to five students whom are guided by one adult. Accountability Groups are formed in 6th grade and stay together throughout the three middle school years. The groups meet on weeks alternating with chapel times. Each Friday morning begins with a time of singing followed by a chapel speaker or Accountability Group time.

GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) Groups: Developing Christian Servants are multi-age groups of elementary students that meet with a teacher once a month on Friday mornings. The school day starts with singing and worship time followed by students breaking-off into their DCS Group to discuss and give examples of our yearly theme. These monthly groups help connect students with kids from different grades and provides a great occasion for students to ‘expect community’. These groups also allow for a unique opportunity for teachers to build relationships with students of different grades.

Prayer: We make prayer an integral part of each school day. We pray to open our day, during devotions, before lunch, and again to close the day. Dutton Christian also provides opportunities for elementary students to pray together in their DCS groups and FM at the middle school. We also have an active mom’s prayer group who pray for our school as part of Moms in Prayer International.
