We offer a Three-Day class, a Progressive class, and a Five-Day classes. The curriculum covered for all classes is the same. The Five-Day classes also include additional and deeper enrichment activities. Your child should be 5-years-old by September 1st for all our kindergarten classes.

Five Day Kindergarten

DCS Kindergarten is a wonderful place where we learn, explore, think, and wonder about God’s creation. We have fun, make friends, laugh, and listen during daily activities and instruction. Your child will learn:

  • Basic pre-reading and reading skills with Zoo phonics, Daily five, and guided reading books
  • Spanish, computer, music, library, physical education, and art

Progressive Kindergarten

Progressive kindergarten combines the benefits of Three-Day and Five-Day kindergarten by allowing your child to build school stamina gradually. Children attend Progressive kindergarten three full days the first semester, adding one day the third quarter, and finishing the year with five days of school. As with the part time and full time programs, your child will learn:

  • Basic pre-reading and reading skills with Zoo phonics, Daily five, and guided reading books
  • Spanish, computer, music, library, physical education, and art

An emphasis is placed on learning about God’s world through science and nature, math, field trips, and every day life experiences.

Three-Day Kindergarten

We understand that Kindergarten is a transition time for many students. Some have not been in preschool, some are enjoying some time yet at home, and others are not ready to be at school five days a week. These are just a few of the reasons we are pleased to be able to offer the Three-Day Kindergarten option. As with the full time kindergarten program, your child will learn:

  • Basic pre-reading and reading skills with Zoo phonics, Daily five, and guided reading books
  • Spanish, computer, music, library, physical education, and art

An emphasis is placed on learning about God’s world through science and nature, math, field trips, and everyday life experiences.
