Dutton Christian School Footprints of Faith Capital Campaign
“In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.”
On March 13, the DCS Association unanimously approved a capital campaign that is projected to cost $3.3 million.
The campaign focuses on expanding at our middle school campus in two phases.
Phase One: The addition of a north wing that would add nine classrooms, three learning spaces, bathrooms, additional storage space and playground equipment
Phase Two: The construction of a new parking lot to the east of our current lot
This will allow us to move our third and fourth graders to the middle school and create two learning communities: 3-5 grades in the new north wing and 6-8th graders in the existing south wing.
Our pre-kindergarten through second graders will remain in the elementary school building, allowing them to grow and thrive in an environment focused solely on early-education.
The DCS Association also approved a motion that will allow us to commence construction on the above project at 90-percent funding, secured in the form of cash and pledges. However, it is our goal to have 100-percent funding before we break ground. That said, the motion will give us a little extra time, if necessary, to secure the remaining 10-percent while keeping us on track to welcome students for the 2018-19 school year.
