Three Key Attributes

Intentionally ChristianSee You at the Pole_06

Dutton Christian School is not Christian in name only. We encourage our students to understand with their minds, feel with their hearts, and then experience with their hands what it means that “Our World Belongs to God”. Dutton Christian does this in a variety of ways. Besides being intentional in making connections to our Christian worldview in our lesson plans, students participate in daily classroom devotions, participate in weekly chapels, and are involved in a variety of activities that help them explore and grow in their faith.

Accountable Instruction

Another key attribute for Dutton Christian School is that we offer the exceptional academics. Dutton Christian has a Curriculum Director that ensures we are current in the world of education. With on-going curriculum evaluations, continuing teacher education, and constantly working on our School Improvement Plan, Dutton Christian is making sure that our students receive a high-quality, Christian education.

Through the use of Discovery Education assessment, we are able to monitor our students in math and reading and can provide unique help to students who are struggling in specific areas. The goal is to help fill in the gaps, and have the students continue working with their classmates in the classroom.

We also understand that not all students work at the same rate. Dutton Christian’s teachers are trained in differentiated instruction to make learning accessible for all our students. We also offer Learning Support Services for those who need it, as well as Academically Talented support for those who need to be challenged more.

Expect Community

Being part of Dutton Christian School is more than just having your children get a solid, Christian education. It is being part of a community. Dutton Christian is a parent-run school. This means that our School Board is made up of current parents and grandparents. Dutton Christian could not function without our parent volunteers. Lead by our parent organization, School Circle, we work together in the classroom, host fundraisers, manage the playground, and in a variety of other areas, provide a excellent academic environment for our students. Parents, grandparents and staff work together as well as support each other.

Some of the ways Dutton Christian is able to do this is through having class sizes that make it possible to get to know many other families. Our school is blessed to have an active Moms in Prayer group that meets regularly to pray for the needs of our students, staff, and administration. Various events are held throughout the year for parents and students to get to know each other and enjoy community with one another.

Each classroom has a Room Parent who works closely with the teacher on classroom activities. Each class also has a Care Parent who helps keep families connected, passes along prayer requests, organizes meals for families in need, and helps connect new families in our school community.
